Mexican architect and politician Javier Hidalgo Ponce, a member of the Morena party, revealed through his social media that he has been diagnosed with cancer. In a video posted on his account, he detailed that in November 2023 he detected a lesion on his right thigh and, after medical studies, on February 23 he received the diagnosis of high-grade, pleomorphic and undifferentiated sarcoma, an aggressive type of cancer.

He decided to make his health status public to continue with the project he strongly promotes, as expressed by Hidalgo Ponce. He assured that his treatment will begin next week and emphasized his determination to face the illness. He currently serves as the General Coordinator of the Community Education Subsystem of the Pilares.

Hidalgo acknowledged that his health situation could limit his presence at some activities, but he reiterated his commitment to the project. He expressed: 'This will not defeat us at all.' Following his announcement, hundreds of people have shown solidarity and support, recognizing his courage for publicly sharing his diagnosis.

Javier Hidalgo was a federal deputy and former director of the Mexico City Sports Institute, standing out for his trajectory and commitment to social causes. In his message, he stated: 'I will face my personal challenge without letting go of the collective challenge.'
